Bellingham Project Recording Studio
A treated, distraction-free space for focused recording sessions. Not a commercial facility, not a bedroom setup, something in between.
The studio is built for artists who want professional results without the price or formality of a large commercial studio. Quality microphones, outboard preamps, and a quiet room, all in a residential space on Bellingham's south side.
The Room
The studio lives in the lower level of a house on Bellingham's
south side. It's treated for voice and acoustic instruments with
absorption panels and bass traps. The space is quiet, comfortable,
and free from the distractions of a busier commercial environment.
The Drum Situation
The room works well for smaller kits, tighter setups, and
controlled drum sounds. A full five-piece with big room ambience
isn't really what this space is built for. Weekend sessions are
available for drum tracking when the neighbors are less likely
to complain, and MIDI drum programming is a solid alternative
for many singer-songwriter projects.

Solo Artists
Vocal tracking, acoustic guitar, singer-songwriter sessions.

Small Ensembles
Duos, trios, and small bands tracking instruments individually
or in small groups.

Clean, broadcast-quality voiceover for commercials,
explainer videos, and phone systems.

Studio Projects C1 (U87-style circuit upgrade), Shure SM7B,
Cascade Fat Head ribbon, Oktava MK-012 pair, Audix i5, Sennheiser e604s,
AKG D112 MKII, Audix D6. Enough to track vocals, acoustic instruments,
and a small drum kit.
Signal Chain
Chameleon Labs 7602 Neve-style preamp, Black Lion Audio Auteur MKII
clean preamp, PreSonus StudioLive AR12 hybrid mixer/interface. Mackie MR5 mk3
monitors for mixing and playback.
Software
Cubase 15 Pro for recording and mixing. A full suite of plugins
from SSL, Brainworx, iZotope, Arturia, and more. Matchering for pre-mastering
included with every mix.
Keys & MIDI
Yamaha MX49 synth workstation with built-in USB audio/MIDI interface.
16-part multi-timbral with arpeggiator and 208 drum patterns for tracking keys
and programming.
